Chautauqua and figure

This morning I went to Chautauqua Park. It was cloudy cold and a little foggy.

Yesterday I attempted a instructional video. The video was a bomb but this 20 min cup turned out all right.
Weds. I talked to our model about doing a more dynamic pose holding it for a shorter period of time, taking more frequent breaks. She was up for it and came up with this pose. She held it for ten min. at a time. What great fun!

Feb. 16 2014

Another figure from Weds night.
I went to New Mexico to visit My Aunt this weekend. This is her house.
On the way down I stopped to paint. It was a sunny clear blue sky and within an hour was overcast. This always trips me up.

Eben G Fine Park

This is a painting from last Weds. I am making progress with my right arm, but painting is still kind of tough. I have been keeping it easy by not using much color on the skin tones. Soon I will gain enough confidence to venture back into more daring colors.

You may recognize this from last week. I took my plein air study along with some photos into my studio and repainted it. What do you think?

Feb 2, 2014

This is from a Go Pro video I made last summer. I thought it might be fun as a painting.

My good friend Neal.

From this morning. The plan was to paint left handed, but I couldn't get the brush out of my right hand. It's still a little soon. It hurt a little too much. Next time I'll where the sling to force the issue. Still it was fun to paint outside some.
