plein air paintings and figure drawing

The weather was incredible this week, so I took advantage and painted out doors as much as I could.

This is the view from our house.

It was really windy today so I lashed my easel down with some tent stakes and tied my pallet to the easel and went for it. I put this painting down to start another and the wind blew a bunch of dirt into the wet paint. I think it made it look better.

If you look close, this also has dirt in the paint. I have to figure out a way to protect my finished field studies until I get back to the car.
This weeks figure drawing was a lesson in foreshortening.
